A Day In

me and my kimono.
Resting at home in my homemade reversible kimono.  I love how the color gradually moves from dark burgundy through rose into taupe.  The kimono and obi were made before Project Minima started.

A vest, pants and tank top were also made to match and lately refashioned to fit.  View them in various arrangements on the clothes collage page or click on the individual item to view their re-making.

Meanwhile, I'm hooking up with the other Visibles at Patti's Not Dead Yet Style before my next nap.

  2. Look at you in your dreamy kimono and posting an outfit all by itself. WooHoo!

  3. Your blog is haunting and beautiful. It stays with me as I go on about my day. You are also my upcycling/refashioning hero. I feel like I give it lip-service while you live it. I am totally inspired by your art and artfully-lived life as I glimpse it. I've cut way back on my thrifting forays, thinking I can make whatever I like from the existing stash. I'm not there yet, but always glad when I make that decision.

    1. Oh Jean, thank you for such kind words. I'm happy my sewing and art images can give you some inspiration. I actually find refashioning from what I have makes me so much more creative than I would be just sewing from scratch or going out to buy a ready-made. You've really made my day!

  4. Burgundy, rose, taupe. Heavenly combination and your composition is stunning. I can't think of anything more important than floating through the day in that kimono!

    1. Yes, I do sorta feel like I'm floating along these days...It was nice to remember the kimono as lounge about wear - thanks to Patti's visible day. Seeing your post made me feel good today too.
